Global Positioning System
Global positioning systems (GPS) use satellites orbiting the earth to
determine precise locations. At Simon & Associates, our land development
team puts GPS to work for precision surveying and state-of-the-art spatial
analysis. The survey control for the study area can be tied to state or
national coordinate systems. This capability allows our land development
team to make use of data from other sources, available through geographic
information systems (GIS). With GPS technology, we can import GIS data
from local governments, utilities, and other sources, and incorporate
that information into maps for our clients.
